Today's Mass Readings; Yesterday's News



Today we heard readings about humility and relying on God for our needs, as well as, the Gospel message from the sermon on the mount. Being meek and poor in spirit we align ourselves under Jesus. In our own country, we saw just yesterday the meek and the humble in the form of refugees, held back from safety, by the cruelty of the powerful and prideful. this action not only reflects the theme of today’s readings but also the power of God to stand for the humble, and humble the prideful, as the order to ban refugees was struck down. The Pope has spoken on the relationship between Christianity and support for those fleeing oppression.
