Why exalt the Eucharist saying it's Jesus, when Jesus said to do it in memory of him?

Recently a fundie (Evangelical, fundamentalist, what have you) asked me the following
Why you exalt the Eucharist saying it's Jesus when Jesus said to do it in memory of Him?

My response I thought would make a good blog entry today it being the feast of St. Michael the Archangel "Who then is like God?" This great battle cry as he threw Lucifer and His followers for their pride, and disobedience.

Jesus said whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and unless you drink my blood and eat my flesh there is no life in you. Now why you would latch on to the fact that He said while doing this we should remember him as some sort of negation of the sacrament is beyond understanding. When Jesus said these words many turned away and said this is a hard teaching who can accept it, and they followed him no more. The larger and more important question is why do you profane Our Lord by calling yourself a christian, and not doing what He commanded. When Jesus said the above words , those left and followed him no more, and remember it was his deepest desire that he should lose none of his followers, why did he not say, oh wait come back this is only a symbolic memorial to me, please don't go.No what he did in John 6 was to turn to the 12, and without changing his words and thus compromising the sacrament at all said, do you to wish to leave. St. Peter as always being first among the 12 spoke for the group saying, to whom shall we go Lord you have the words of eternal life. No what were the words of eternal life, that were rejected by the first protestants, see there were protestants even in the messianic era or epoch. The words of eternal life are unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood there is no life in you, whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life. When we put these words together with other things that Jesus said, and remember that we did not write everything down, we the church that Jesus founded that is, but when we put this together with what Jesus said about obedience -- who are my mother, my brothers and my sisters; we would be foolish heretics not to do what Jesus commanded, and remembering him while we eat his flesh and drink his blood. The larger question of course is, how on earth could possibly imagine yourself and your pastors in your wildest dreams to be followers of Our Lord and savior Jesus Christ and NOT be doing these things.
"WHO IS LIKE GOD?"
St. Michael pray for us.http://www.stmichaelgodsknight.com/

Who is like God indeed, no one St. Michael knew this, as he chased Lucifer from the heavens. This ieven itself being described by Our Lord inthe Gospels. If we do not believe His words ont he Eucharist then how are we to believe these other words of his, even those we keep with our traditon of history -- we did not write down his every utterence.
The healing power the saftey the freedom comes in knowing that we have a loving God, whose love and concern for us as indviduals knows no boundary.
By the cross Jesus, fully human and fully God showed no boundaries in his love for us.
He came here to found his kingdom on earth, why? Well because teh Jews simply weren't getting it. So, God himself defined the word humility by taking human form and beign born as an impovereished human being in a stable, of a mother who's character was in question because of her obiedneince her ver concetion of the child God made her an outcast. St. Josepeh himself had to rise above this to take her as his wife sn thus be the step father, care taker and teacher of humanity to Our Lord. And yes God defeined the word humility here as well.

So, "Who is like God." this I shall "rememeber" carry in my heart from henceforth as I eat his flesh and drink his blood.

This is a special day for me.
When I was molested as a child and when immdeatly afterwards another attempted to murder me, these thigns occurring fo rthe first time at the age of four. It was ST. Michael who was there for me prtotecting me fromt eh hurt resentment and hatered that do so many in who have similaraly suffered. God nvere abandoned me, and for soem reason the greatest of God's warriors was persoonally assigsned as my gaurdian. Events have proved this to me, not the least of which is the grace I am feeling and the strenght I have been given not to just write this but to persever. And to stay out of the hands of the evil one.

To love one's enemeies this is to be Godly, and God has given me the grace to d so and to perserver in my faith. None of these do I do perfectly, none of this do I do perfectly, I try, but when I get down for falling short, I can rememebr the words of my long time patron and guardian, "Who then is like God?"
